A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols Heralding the beginning of the Christmas season, this candlelit choral concert at Emory has been a warm and welcoming Atlanta tradition for decades. This year, the tradition continues with choral music from the Emory Concert Choir and University Chorus and scripture readings by special guests from the Emory community.

The Collegiate Chorale is composed of undergraduate freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors in a variety of majors. Collegiate Chorale rehearses twice weekly and performs repertoire in diverse styles and genres.

Fun, free and educational for the whole family, Decatur’s “Pan African Festival” is a celebration of Black culture. The event, produced by the Beacon Hill Black Alliance for Human Rights in conjunction with the City of Decatur, features cultural activities, art exhibitions, African cuisine and vendors.

Nothing says summer like live music outdoors. This free concert series is happening the last Friday of each month at the Decatur bandstand through August 23. The music starts at 7 p.m., so stop by to see if your favorite local band is playing.
